Thanks for this nugget, as it only started to appear on mine when i updated a couple of applications,

IrfanView 3.98 &

Nero 6.x.x.18, as had no issues with it before these.

Am now trying virtualPC, so will update to say if worked or not.

terrible not to update when should - but yes that reg key did solve my issues with installation of applications
