Biohead
Back non Topic: I had a similar problem. I solved it by booting into XP (I have two partitions, one for XP, one for Vista). I solved it by copying over the drivers in XP:\Windows\System into Vista:\Windows\System. Then I restarted the installation.I presume that the installation drivers that come on the vista dvd did not support my hardware.
jk009
Also in my XP drive I find these:$WINDOWS.~BT$WINDOWS.~LS...........................It still freezes, even with the XP drivers....Is there anything else?...........................EDITThe $ folders are gone....My computer now ALWAYS freezes on the Customizing settings. Any idea? Edited August 15, 2005 by jk009
Misao
1, Copy folder $WINDOWS.~BT to your VISTA Partition and reboot. *.If it not works then boot to XP and:a, Open boot.ini (Right click on My Computer--->Properties----->advanced---->Startup and Recovery--->Settings----->Edit. You will see something like this:[boot loader]timeout=15default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS-------->change the partition number to exactly where you want to install Vista.[operating systems]multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP Professional" /fastdetectC:\ = "Microsoft Windows" multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows Long Horn setup" ........----->Change the partition number like above.b, Save it and reboot. Then when I hit the MS Windows Media Player, I recieve an Advanced INF Install Error: Access Denied. Any idea?
