can't save settings on exit

Hey

I've recently had a problem hope you guys can help out. Every time I reboot I lose every XP setting I change and the system starts up with the original default XP settings including the freaking XP tour!

Not sure where I went wrong on this. It seemed to kick in when I removed MS Antispyware.

I can't use system restore because the first restore point it gives me is after the most recent reboot.

I assume it's a registry issue I don't have any "nosavesettings".

Any ideas?
