Oneazazal Posted August 4, 2005 Posted August 4, 2005 Hello all,I have a dual boot system. I had an older computer which had 2000 on it, I wanted to upgrade so I bought a new harddrive and installed XP on it. The dual boot works fine, but I have a problem with my drive names. The old harddrive is titled c:/ on both operaing systems, but the new harddrive is labelled e:/ when I boot up in 2000, and called f:/ when I boot up in XP. I wouldn't have noticed this but I have a lot of DAQ cards and other computer add -ons that stopped working. All of the add on hardware works fine when I boot up in 2000, but the computer can't find the drivers in XP. I have made sure to install all the drivers on both hard drives, so I think the error is in the naming of the drives....so after all of that...How do you change the name of a harddrive ie. from f:/ to e:/? Or maybe one of you knows why this is happening. Thanks alot,Azazal
