rdbss.sys blue screen of death

A laptop using windows xp in the office lately has occasionally started loosing its connection to the internet and when the person tries to restart the laptop it takes a long time to shutdown and once it restarts the person receives a blue screen of death IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL for rdbss.sys. Has anyone had this problem before or know how to fix this? It doesn't happen on every shutdown and restart only once in a while the laptop is a dell latitude d505.
