jpatto Posted July 4, 2005 Posted July 4, 2005 I have a 200+ users on a network with a GB connection. Now when i install office 2003 some pcs take an hour for install and others take 2 minutes to install. All PCs have the same specs, and automatic assignment of DHCP - anyone know whats causing the slowness here?thanks
At0mic Posted July 4, 2005 Posted July 4, 2005 It could be down to any number of reasons. I had a problem at work with our corporate database. Normally the database takes around 5 seconds to open. However, a small group of computers took a few minutes and I tracked it down to a faulty switch which solved the problem after I replaced it.
Taggs Posted July 6, 2005 Posted July 6, 2005 It could be down to settings on a NIC. I'd check all settings are correct and make sure Automatic metric is enabled. (Gave us a hell of a problem with the whole network)Also is the HDD of the share/server being used by anything else when you install office?Could be a firewall problem...Just a few things to check out but it could be anything....Taggs
