blue screen when replaced ntoskrnl.exe please help

did not relize that there is a "XP LogonUI & Boot Screens" sub forum. Moved my post over there. A mod please remove this post because i dont want to have double posts. thanks.

i did the same process with my work station just now and it worked just fine. I dont see the problem. Can some one help? thanks.

I'd suggest not replacing the actual NTOSKRNL.EXE file, and using StarDock's BootSkin instead. If anything goes wrong with the BootSkin, you'll still always be able to get into Safe Mode to reapply the default boot screen.

The NTOSKRNL.EXE file missing or corrupt message may also appear when the key files needed for booting are highly fragmented and BIOS isnt able to access them. Its important to defragment regularly for sytem stability and speed. its easy too now with automatic software that will do it in the background without inerrupting other processes.
