Using Card Reader for Logon?

Hi,

recently i set up my new Notebook which comes with a built in Multi-Card-Reader (SD, MMC, SM...). Now the Logon Screen not just only states "Press Ctrl-Alt-Del to Logon" but also "or insert Card". What does this mean?

Are i am now able to create a SD/MMC/whatever Card and use it instead of entering my username/password? If yes, can someone give me a hint on how to do this?
