Problems in Setup

Hello,

I have a friend that is trying to run the Windows XP setup. Unfortunately he started a setup and the point that he is currently at it freezes on him and will not continue. I was wondering (because he never formatted his computer), is there a way to make the computer think that a setup was not running so that you can go back to the beginning of the installation to format the HD first? I know you can use a boot disk, ect. and bypass Windows setup completely, i was just wondering if there's a way to make windows think that there was no previous setup running.

Press F8 as fast as you can during startup .
