Hamins Posted June 21, 2005 Posted June 21, 2005 (edited) ****, this is my first real-life installation of the Win2003 server, and it's been plagued with all sorts of problem....This time is it's a windows 2003 shutdown problem...Today, was the first day I tried to shut down the server, after installing it 2 dayz ago. When i shutdown, it gave me the usual message saying .... "Windows Shutting down" with a grey screen in the backgroud, then the message went away, and all that remained was the grey screen, with the mouse pointer. The screen remains on for around 10-12 mins, after which the sever shuts down. It should not take 10-12 mins for the server to shut down. When I start the server, Windows2003 boots up normally. Checked the eventvwer, but saw no suspisicous error or notification.Another problem is, that when the server is working, certain services like the PRINTER SPOOLER, and the HELPER SERVICE shutdown automatically. The startup type is Automatic, but these services shut-down atleast twice a day, and then I have to restart them manually, and set them back to Automatic. Today, even the DHCP SERVER service shutdown abruptly. Why does this happen ?Please I need to know the above ASAP... thnx Edited June 21, 2005 by Hamins
