Help, just installed 2k3

I was planning on using 2k3 as a basis for longhorn and install lh on top of it. My main OS is XP whcih works fine, however after installing 2k3 I don't have the option to select which OS i want to use.

Any solutions to this please?

hi,

u have 2 option to do:

1st : boot from ur WinCD and when in blue screen of loading the windows components, press R to go to the recovery console and then type "fixmbr"; this command which is recovery console command will fix ur MBR again.

2nd : in RUN type C:\boot.ini and this will open the boot.ini file; then check for something like this:

[boot loader]

timeout=10

default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS

[operating systems]

multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(2)\WINDOWS="Windows Server 2003, Standard" /fastdetect

multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP Professional" /fastdetect

in the 3rd line, change the partition(1) value to the desire OS from line below.
