how to check hotfixes on LAN clients

Hi guys…

Is there a solution to check the installed hotfixes on a client, when he attaches to my network. It should deny the access, if the necessary hotfixes aren't installed.

The ISA Server 2004 offers this function for VPN clients (If a client hasn't the hotfixes required the access will be denied). Is there a solution for a LAN environment (Hotfix Check without VPN)?
