this was takin from another forum for those that are lookin for a fix for doom 3 RoE

MSI-editing technique (thanks to Koobze)

    * Copy the source files from CD to a hard disk (needs to be writable).

    * Using an MSI editor, find the LaunchCondition entry, and edit the Condition entry from

(Not Version9X=400) And (Not VersionNT=400) And (Not VersionNT=502)

to

(Not Version9X=400) And (Not VersionNT=400) And (Not VersionNT<500)

    * (or you could probably just nuke the line altogether (untested)).

    * Then Save the MSI and run Setup.exe from the same directory.

    * (NB - if using Orca, don't forget to close the file after saving it, otherwise it won't run properly)

[edit]Manual Install technique (thanks to Turbinehead)

  1. Install Doom3

  2. Copy the whole directory "d3xp" from your RoE-CD to your Doom3-Directory

  3. Apply Patch 1.2 from the RoE CD \Patch directory

  4. Start Doom3

  5. Now you are asked for the CD-Key of RoE

  6. Select MODS and select RoE

  7. Enjoy

You can modify a shortcut to Doom3.exe to run RoE directly by adding

+set fs_game d3xp

to the command line (eg. "c:\doom three\doom3.exe" +set fs_game d3xp)
