xpMCEBuilder
I'm new to this, but not troubleshooting Windows, so please bear with me. I downloaded BartPE so I could make a rescue CD. I copied the files from my XP Home CD to my computer, successfully slipstreamed SP2 in, and built a stock BartPE CD (just took all the defaults, didn't change anything else). I can get it to load past the Windows XP logo, and it detects the video (it switches over to 800x600), but from there it dies. I get nothing after that point, just the background logo and mouse pointer. It didn't freeze, because I can use the mouse, but it just doesn't go any further. I tested this on an IBM Thinkpad T40, Dell Inspiron 600m and a VMWare virtual machine. With VMWare, I tried both from a burned CD (I tried both 24x and 2x) and then finally just told VMWare to load the CD from the ISO (much faster). But nothing, it behaves the same way no matter what. Is there anyone who can help me?
Martin Zugec
Didnt you remove start menu plugin accidentally?
xpMCEBuilder
I'll check that when I get home, thanks. I did remove PE Builder and reinstall so I would think it reinstalled its settings, but I'll check anyway.
xpMCEBuilder
Solved! I had to use my XP Pro CD to get it to work. For some reason, even though Bart's website says Home Edition will work, it doesn't.
