Martin Zugec Posted June 6, 2005 Posted June 6, 2005 Hi! I am preparing Adobe Reader package and encountered one problem - I dont want to show pdf files in browser (sometimes I can see message %PDF% is not recognized file extension), but I cant find where this setting is! I know it is in MIME database, but these settings are NOT included in adobe.msi file So it looks like they are automatically generated after running acrobat.Have anyone solution on this or should I continue with my research?
MHz Posted June 6, 2005 Posted June 6, 2005 If you unregister pdfshell.dll. This will disable the ActiveX in the browser. It is in "%ProgramFiles%\Adobe\Acrobat 7.0\ActiveX\".
Martin Zugec Posted June 6, 2005 Author Posted June 6, 2005 I know about this (noticed -A attribute on file)... but wont this change nothing else?
oioldman Posted June 6, 2005 Posted June 6, 2005 There is also a regkey related to this. Run regsnap to capture the specific key, but that alone doesn't disable the feature. You'll have same issue in v7.0.1
Martin Zugec Posted June 6, 2005 Author Posted June 6, 2005 Nope, there isnt key (it would be too easy ) It is deleting CLSID from related MIME types, e.g. application/pdf or vnd.fdf
