saturndude Posted May 13, 2005 Posted May 13, 2005 Hi all,Some time ago, I thought Microsoft had a bug-fix to artificially insert an extra 2 seconds before 98 shut down. With today's fast processors and large hard disks, info was not being written to disk before shutdown.Due to general decay, I recently reinstalled 98, then Second Edition. My new installation was corrupted almost immediately. I re-copied from a backup image (MaxBlast, Partition Magic) and disabled "fast shutdown". I would also like to re-install the 2-second delay patch, but I can't find it.Does anybody remember this patch? Is it still around?P.S. While I may have to upgrade to XP eventually, my heart will always be with 98.
