I was wondering what files could be removed from the Windows XP x64 CD safely.

I noticed in the AMD64 Directory LANG, WIN9XMIG, WINNTUPG and also in the I386 is a LANG Directory can these be removed.

Try it out, not many people can even use windows xp 64 yet. Just delete things whcih you could in the 32bit version of xp, then explore from there.

If you meet these requirements, then you can get rid of the following folders

If you are doing a clean install from scratch

If you are in the US and using english

AMD64\LANG

AMD64\WIN9XMIG

AMD64\WINNTUPG (keep this if you want to install recovery console)

DOCS

I386\LANG

I've been doing test installs for weeks with these folders deleted on my CD/DVD
