Can you force the status bar to ALWAYS show?

I hate how the thing only appears half the time. It'll be shown on the first window you open but not other ones, etc. I was wondering if there's a way to ensure it'll always show. Like a reg tweak, maybe?

There is a way.

Open Windows Explorer.

Click View and check Status Bar.

Then go to Folder Options.

Click View tab.

Click Apply to All Folders.

Click OK.

Tada.

This should also force Internet Explorer to display the status bar all the time.
