premier69 Posted April 23, 2005 Posted April 23, 2005 i have this file EVE_Client.exe which i can't delete, windows says it's in use.now, ive tried deleting it in Fail safe but says the same thing there, i've even tried adding the hdd as a slave drive in another computer, booting up that pc and tried to delete the file, that windows said the same thing, is there anyway short of formatting to delete this goddam file?btw, the file takes up 0 bytes. Is there any utility or program to tell a user what is using a file when getting a message like this?
Martin Zugec Posted April 23, 2005 Posted April 23, 2005 Every process can create its handles - if there is handle, you wont be able to delete that file. You need program, that can close processes handles - for example handle.exe or process explore - both is available on www.sysinternals.com
