esprout Posted April 16, 2005 Posted April 16, 2005 I installed Windows 2003 SP1, and my 1394 firewire drives are no longer recognized by the operating system.Has anyone else encountered this problem? Has anyone have their drive still work with SP1 installed?I'm using IOGear drives, one of which uses a prolific PL3507 chip, the other is the new tri-select GHD335C320, which I'm not sure what chipset it uses.I also have a couple of enclosures from firewiredirect.com. I think one of them worked, but the other one that seems to have some weird other problem as it is, didn't work. They use the oxford 911 chipset. Thanks in advance for any advice on the matter.
esprout Posted April 17, 2005 Author Posted April 17, 2005 Drivers for both the firewire pcmcia card and disk are provided natively by Windows 2003. SP1 updated the drivers to newer versions, which breaks it.
