Hypnos Posted April 15, 2005 Posted April 15, 2005 O.K, this my situation..I have edited winnt.sif and winnt.bat so that its fullunattended, but when i go test it with VMware4.0 the first part goes fine.. partitioning, it copies files and the $oem$ map. Then there comes a reboot, what is normal. But after this reboot it doesnt come up with the GUI mode.. I guess the installation process doesnt know where he stored thoose copied filessomehow...?? or, VMware has a misconfig...??If I need to post my winnt.sif, No ProblemThx!!
compster Posted April 15, 2005 Posted April 15, 2005 The best way to do a VMWare install is with an iso image.You might need to post a bit more info, but you winnt.sif should look something like this:;SetupMgrTag[Data] AutoPartition=0 MsDosInitiated="0" UnattendedInstall="Yes" AutomaticUpdates=yes[unattended] FileSystem=* UnattendMode=FullUnattended OemSkipEula=Yes OemPreinstall=Yes TargetPath=\WINDOWS Repartition=No WaitForReboot="No" DriverSigningPolicy=Ignore UnattendSwitch="yes"[GuiUnattended] AdminPassword="[enter password here]" EncryptedAdminPassword=NO OEMSkipRegional=1 TimeZone=35 OemSkipWelcome=1 AutoLogon=Yes AutoLogonCount=1[userData] ProductKey=*****-*****-*****-*****-***** FullName="winxp" OrgName="home" ComputerName=*[TapiLocation] CountryCode=107 Dialing=Tone AreaCode=416[RegionalSettings] LanguageGroup=1[identification] JoinWorkgroup=WORKGROUP[WindowsFirewall]Profiles = WindowsFirewall.TurnOffFirewall[WindowsFirewall.TurnOffFirewall]Mode = 0[iEPopupBlocker]BlockPopups=YesFilterLevel=MediumShowInformationBar=Yes[Networking] InstallDefaultComponents=Yes[Components]msmsgs=offmsnexplr=off freecell=offhearts=offminesweeper=offpinball=offsolitaire=offspider=offzonegames=off
Hypnos Posted April 16, 2005 Author Posted April 16, 2005 I think i had a bug in VMware.. I installed it on a different pc, and my unattended cd worked fine there..So, i updated VMware.. and now i have no probs with this part...but other probs occur.. as usual
