Hey everyone. I was hoping I could poll a few of you on the best way to approach a project that I have to complete.

Project

1000 store pc need windows xp service pack 2 installed + security updates. This needs to be distributed via cd.

Is sms installer the best way to go. I would like to have custom dialog boxes like "XYZ IS Dept had detected that SP2 needs to be installed"

If anyone has a faster easier method to do this type of roll out I would appreciate any suggestions.

What about SUS or WUS??? If they are networked than you can use either one of these to push the updates via a Group Policy

Well I mentioned above it needs to be via cd. The line to these stores are only 64k. Pushing over 200mb wouldn't be feasible.

We may use sus for additional updates but we need to get them up to date via cd with sp2 and the 33 odd security updates.
