Question On Ms Sharepoint Portal Server

Hello,

I wish to provide suppliers and customers with access to their data over the Internet. Can I use MS SharePoint Portal Server 2003 alone or must I use it in conjunction with MS ISA Server 2004 to deploy an Extranet to authorized users?
