eldadf92121 Posted March 15, 2005 Posted March 15, 2005 Hello,The program installation went ok.When invoked I get a "16 bit Windows Subsystem" pop up with:"C:\DOCUME~1\Eldad_2\LOCALS~1\TEmp\. A temporary file needed for initialization could not be created or could not be written to. Make sure that the directory path exists, and disk space is available....".I tried the following with no success:1. Disk space ...still have several Gbytes2. In Safe mode, enabled all permissions/controls for Eldad_2 on C:\Documents and Settings\Eldad_2\Local Settings\Temp.3. Verified that c:\WINDOWS\system32 has Autoexec.nt and Config.nt as recommended and intact.Any suggestions? Thanks much,Eldad
eldadf92121 Posted March 15, 2005 Author Posted March 15, 2005 Ok...I found the problem. The TEMP and TMP variables in the registry were not pointing to the TEMP dierctory.http://support.microsoft.com/kb/314106The registry entries that are associated with the NTVDM subsystem are:• HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\EnvironmentThis key stores the environment variables from the Config.sys and Autoexec.bat files for use in Windows. The key was set for %systemroot%\TEMP, and I changed it to:%systemroot%\..\TEMP.Thanks,Eldad
