Problem Windows Messenger 5

For some reason when Messenger 5 tries to install i get the following error:

C:\Program Files\Messenger\msimmsgr.dll failed toegister. HResult -2147024770. Contact your support personnel.

I cant find anything on the net about this neither in the forum. found the following on another forum that resembles my prob a little:

y C:\Program Files\AproposClient\atl.dll.  I had deleted this directory a wh

ud that I found after IE started crashing on me.  Re-registering C:\windows\

system32\atl.dll solved the problem.  This took a little while to figure out
