The Unattended Parameters To Use In This Case ...

Featured Replies

Hey all ...

My question is directly related to this thread here:

ArsTechnica - Why the hell Unattended parameter wasn't applied on installation ??

Because of this problem (see the links to various forums, where I posted about it): ArsTechnica - System file cache is almost empty all the time, probably caused by messing *something*, when I was trying to solve this problem: ArsTechnica - Windows Activation process is closed after execution, Winforums - Windows Activation process closed after execution, MSFN - Windows Activation process closed after execution, I am planning to re-install my current Windows installation.

And before I do it, I would really like to know, what is the correct complete syntax of the Winnt.sif file, if all I want it to do is set the default "Documents and Settings" directory to be something else (I just don't like more than 8 chars long file-names, but I especially do not like spaces in them), like "Settings" for instance.

I know, it should contain this line below, but which ones are missing (and should be there), which headers are required, etc. ??

ProfilesDir = "D:\Settings"

P.S., I've found this list the other day, but the 100 % correct syntax is still a mistery to me: Macmicro - modifier unattend

greetings, shirker
