IEAK 6

Recommended Posts

depends what you mean by users....

I just have a "Flat" directory shared so that I can install it to any OS on the domain - never figured a way to put it on a webserver to install from.

Of course, if you "wrap" it into a single file that auto-installs, you could have it set up that way to install from a internal web server and install it on every machine with a click of a link.

Any other method you have used people?

Regards,

N.

I assume you mean your using IEAK 6 or IEAK 6 SP1 to create an customized IE6 installation.

In that case, I have used Altiris and SMS to deploy IE6 remotely.

I have also slipstreamed it into my Windows 2K builds.

And, I have integrated it into Windows 2000/2003/XP unattended build cd's.

All were successful.

First run IEAK 6 to download all the IE .cab files to a flat directory.

Second run through the configuration wizards in IEAK to customize your install, create Favorites, configure security settings etc. IEAK will then build a customized install script, .ins file for you.

Lastly, run IE6SETUP.EXE from the flat directory to install IE.

How you call the IE6SETUP.EXE is up to you. I have used the above three methods.
