bmyhand Posted February 1, 2005 Posted February 1, 2005 Using this tweak from msfn reg tweak.txt ;Sort Start Menu and Favorites in Alphabetical Order (All Windows) ;This removes the key below[-HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\MenuOrder]It works but when I reboot it adds this key and its subkeys back to the register. Is their a way to remove it and keep it from coming back?tks
prathapml Posted February 1, 2005 Posted February 1, 2005 That key will come back, there's nothing you can do about it.Deleting that key is used to make it forget the order it was in. At next logon, it will re-create itself in alphabetical order. If that key was supposed to not comeback, then you won't see your StartMenu/faves at all!The alternative is probably to have that key empty and make it read-only.
