Hi guys !

I have been looking for a solution to this but couldn´t find one. Is there a way to remove the "Shared Documents" folder from "My Computer" but keep showing the individual "Personal" folders there ?

I found many sources for removing the Shared Documents folder like this one for instance:

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer]
"NoSharedDocuments"=dword:00000001
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer]
"NoSharedDocuments"=dword:00000001
[-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\MyComputer\NameSpace\DelegateFolders\{59031a47-3f72-44a7-89c5-5595fe6b30ee}]

but it removes the whole section with all folders not only the Shared Documents folder.

As an alternative, would there be a way to change the destination of the "Shared Documents" folder to some other place but keep the %ALLUSERSPROFILE" where it is ? (similar to having a user profile in "C:\Documents and Settings\%USERNAME%" and the "%PERSONAL%" folder on "D:\%USERNAME%" for instance )

Any ideas ?

Thanks,

Alex

Hi !

Thanks for trying to help !

@Astalavista: I altready looked for that feature in the regtweaks document in the sticky thread. I came up with the code I posted in the first post but as I said, it removes all the documents folders, not just the Shared folders.

@prathapml: It does not work with TweakUI. I created a new folder on D: and call it Shared. I create three subfolders named Music, Videos and Pictures inside. Then I change each Shared Folder ( Documents, Music, Pictures, Videos ) in TweakUI to the newely created folders clicking "apply" after each change. After opening TweakUI again, the changes are removed and the old path is there again. Somehow Windows won´t let me change the path for the shared folders ... :unsure:

Hey !

No, I did that of course. More than once. The changed path is not remembered, no matter what I do. Windows sets it back to C:\Documents and Settings\%USERNAME%\Documents

:(

Bye,

Alex
