No Advaced Search with Classic Search in Explorer

I'm just playing around with the Explorer Search and it seems that the Classic Search does never-ever use the advanced search while the blue backgrounded Search does. Is this a feature or simply a bug? Quite annoying because I don't like the look. At least the dog has gone

By the way: does anyone know what the key UsageCount;HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Search Assistant\UsageCount is good for?

And another question right behind: The autocompletion in classic mode doesn't work either, right?!
