Hey guys i want to modify the part of setup.exe so that when clicked it gives intructions on how to install windows then say reboot and abort is there any program to do this

the one that runs when you put the windows installtion disk in

yes you can

open up setup.exe with res.hacker

and find the string that point's to the htm file on your disc

edit it to point it to your txt or what ever you want to do

yeh i know all that but i guess i didnt ask correctly i was asking for a program that would go with that so when a user selects the option to install windows it brings up a dialog stating you have to restart to instal windows and give syou the option to restart just like a linux isntall has

What you want, is not setup.exe modifications.

Create a whole new autorun yourself! Many tools available to do that:

- AutoPlay Menu Builder

- AutoPlay Media Studio

... and so on.

If you want to edit the Setup.ini resources (such as background and text) you can try Resource Hacker.
