nil Posted January 13, 2005 Posted January 13, 2005 I'd like to be able to make left-dragging (EDIT ...a file using the Windows GUI [and a mouse]...) always perform a move regardless of the destination or file type (without needing to use the shift key). Does anyone know if/how that can be done? (EDIT ...via a registry hack or an OS file patch?)
prathapml Posted January 14, 2005 Posted January 14, 2005 place a brick on your shift key? (then you don't need to use it, and also you can type LIKE THIS, j/k)
nil Posted January 14, 2005 Author Posted January 14, 2005 NEW QUESTION - ANYONE KNOW HOW BEST TO CLEAN BRICK GRIT FROM A KEYBOARD ?I really should have phrased my question a little tighter... Moving all my porn files is becoming WAY too much of a handful! And I just hate cracking open warez disk only to find it full of shortcuts (easier to crack now that I have a brick on hand I 'spose ).
prathapml Posted January 14, 2005 Posted January 14, 2005 Haha.... (lol @ the grit on keyboard)Well, one immediate solution I can think of is the MoveTo/CopyTo tweak - get it here.I'd say there must be some way to change the default copy action to move - until I find that, try DirectoryOpus or PowerDesk6 which allows the drag-n-drop behaviour to be configured.
nil Posted January 15, 2005 Author Posted January 15, 2005 Cheers prathapml. I had a quick scan of the thread you linked and I'm not sure it's quite what I'm after but I d/l'd the file anyway and will check it out. Ta. I've yet to try PowerDesk but, while it's undeniably powerful, I found DirOpus a little too bloated for my liking (I'm checking out 'Xplorer²' Free at the moment).
