shooter1973 Posted January 9, 2005 Posted January 9, 2005 Everytime I install Norton Internet Security, in the Outbreak Alert section I have 3 worms: W32.Beagle.AV@mm W32.Erkez.D@mm W32.Sober.I@mmI've tried more then a few copies of Norton, as well as Win XP. I've done 2 different scans with Norton Antivirus & Trend Micro Antivirus & both come up clean. My question is, why are these 3 worms showing up in Norton Security if they're not in virus software? Anyone else encounter this?
dos68 Posted January 9, 2005 Posted January 9, 2005 If these 3 are in the "Protected" window, this meant you're protected against these.
shooter1973 Posted January 9, 2005 Author Posted January 9, 2005 I took it as I have these on my computer because if I unable Norton Protect, the icon flashes & says I'm unprotected against 3 threats.
Astalavista Posted January 10, 2005 Posted January 10, 2005 that is normal i hv that too. it just means that norton has sinked with the symantec server and u dont hv those profiles. so it is asking u to update.
shooter1973 Posted January 13, 2005 Author Posted January 13, 2005 Seems kind of misleading by them & I'm all updated.
