Custom WinPE

Hello,

I have a production (destination) computer that has a LAN on the Motherboard (LOM). I'm trying to preinstall Windows XP Pro. I used the OEM OPK disk along with a floppy that has my Winbom.ini file on it. In this file lies the name of the configuration set located on the Master computer and a path to the network drivers for the LOM. After setup checks my hardware the Factory Preinstallation window appears and shows the following sequence:

Setting display resolution

Partitioning disks and formatting drives

Starting networking

Installing Configuration Set

Finishing WinPE

The sequence fails at "Starting networking". I get the "Cannot authenticate to server: Incorrect function." message.

I assumed that this was because the OEM OPK disk does not have the LOM drivers on it and somehow it needs to get installed before reading the Winbom.ini file. I made a custom WinPE that has my drivers on it thinking that since plug and play (PnP) is enabled in the BIOS that the drivers would get installed. Well with this disk I get an error message that says "Failed to install network adapter -- check Winbom."

Obivously I do not know enough about preinstalling Windows XP. Anyone done this before? What else can I try?
