CyrusLabs Posted December 28, 2004 Posted December 28, 2004 I have a Windows Server 2003 machine and haven't really been doing much except serving up pages. It's a fully updated machine, but for some strange reason every time I attempt to launch the "Local Security Policy" item in the Administrative tools lately, I am met with a nasty message that says:"Snap-in failed to initialize.Name:Group Policy Object EditorCLSID:{XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX} " (Numbers have been changed to protect the innocent )I've searched the net for solutions, tried a lot, including hunting for the exact CLSID in my registry and deleting it manually. Nothing seems to work. Anyone out there have any ideas? It's kind of a hassle to not be able to access the local security policy and I'd like to avoid a reinstall. Thanks in advance.
un4given1 Posted January 3, 2005 Posted January 3, 2005 Have you tried just importing the snap-in file? The current one may just be corrupt.
