how to change setup text?

Featured Replies

when you install

"windows is better then ever, with bill's spywre.." etc

What you want to do, is to modify winntbbu.dll (the setup screens and text).

There's an entire forum-section dedicated to this - click here

EDIT:

Yeah, same as what sixpack said.

can someoen send me the winntbbu.dll SP2?

hacking this stuff up at my mums win98 pc ;)

@sixpack

No, it proves that you're still young. ;)

The forum was created just some days ago. And yes, you linked to exactly the thread which was the main one (perfect place to send a newcomer to read) in the new forum.

@MeDieViL

No offense towards you, but if you can't do it yourself, its better you don't do the setup-screen thingie. If you'd need assistance to create it, then you need help to fix any problems that come with it as well.....

Why not just use a proper XP machine, go to the forum link, and read through the topics there.

you understand me wrong

i want an unchanged Service pack 2 winntbbu.dll

so i can customize it on this pc, where i dont have acces to my xp disks

Well, go get your disks then.

Plus, one more reason you should not do this on win98, is that if you do the editing on XP/2k, you can install VMware and test out the result without wasting CDs.
