October 10, 200223 yr I was changing my logon screen on the other system, and I did something wrong.I don't feel like formatting.I replaced my C:\windows\system32\ntoskrnl.exe, and now I restarted.I can't start up system, safe mode, normal mode, ANY mode! It was the Windows XP Loading screen. I can't get into Windows XP!How do I fix this?I tried Use last settings that worked...still problems..I can put in my disk, and do repair or whatever....what do I do exactly? Please help!
October 10, 200223 yr I pretended like I was re-installing Windows, and hit repair. It deleted all my windows files, and uninstalled drivers, and reinstalled newer files, with same drivers.Works great!

October 10, 200223 yr The same exact thing happened to me a while back. After choosing Repair, my mouse cursor was jittery and jumpy. Did a reformat shortly.

October 11, 200223 yr 200Gb? That's a lot. If thats all your music, videos, and installation files for software and games, they don't really need backing up if they're kept on a seperate partition or hard disk. Usually the OS installation, and a few installed applications should only take up 2-3Gb, and its what I backup with Norton Ghost.
