Big ass problems with XP...

Featured Replies

I was changing my logon screen on the other system, and I did something wrong.

I don't feel like formatting.

I replaced my C:\windows\system32\ntoskrnl.exe, and now I restarted.

I can't start up system, safe mode, normal mode, ANY mode! It was the Windows XP Loading screen. I can't get into Windows XP!

How do I fix this?

I tried Use last settings that worked...still problems..

I can put in my disk, and do repair or whatever....what do I do exactly? Please help!

I pretended like I was re-installing Windows, and hit repair. It deleted all my windows files, and uninstalled drivers, and reinstalled newer files, with same drivers.

Works great!

Glad you got it working, you oughta consider DriveImage pro...

It saves me all the time cause I treat my baby mean at times too... lol

The same exact thing happened to me a while back. After choosing Repair, my mouse cursor was jittery and jumpy. Did a reformat shortly.

Whats DriveImage, and what does it do?

Whats DriveImage, and what does it do?

It makes an exact clone of your OS and installed applications, games and whatever else into one single file. If your OS ever got knackered, you can restore your previous state from the image file created by DriveImage or Norton Ghost. Its 100% flawless, unlike System Restore.

Do I need to backup this image to a few DVDS? (200gb) ?

200Gb? That's a lot. If thats all your music, videos, and installation files for software and games, they don't really need backing up if they're kept on a seperate partition or hard disk. Usually the OS installation, and a few installed applications should only take up 2-3Gb, and its what I backup with Norton Ghost.
