anthon Posted December 6, 2004 Posted December 6, 2004 Hello!I don´t know if anyone can help here but, I'm really despered.I'm trying to install Flash Player with Windows 2000 Server GPO into Windows 2000 clients on an AD network.I have the MSI file that I received from Macromedia.I'm assigning it to computers.I have a test machine that I placed in the teste OU.During the boot I can see the message of Flash Player is installing (before login request). The problem is that I can only activate the Flash certificate as a system admin.I tried everything... Assigning from machine to users... To administrator approved controls (Shockwave flash enabled)... But nothing...If anyone as ever done this or had the same problem and was able to fix it, help me.I saw some posts about flash unnatended install and I tought someone could help me...Please do so.Thank you very much.Best regards to all and to the Forum creators,António Vasconcelos.
prathapml Posted December 6, 2004 Posted December 6, 2004 Well, I don't know if there's a more direct solution to this. A workaround is possible - idea below. The flash install would need to be invoked in an account with Admin privileges. So if you want to avoid having anyone seated there while this happens, you could have the machine auto-login with the admin-account (or a domain account with similar functionality) - this is do-able by using temporary registry tweaks, lets keep it such that it gets applied once and then after flash is done, another tweak to set it back to require user-login.Now, after the admin-login (as per above), just running the MSI installer with a switch of "/QB" should be enough. If you have any special build of the installer that needs user-input, you can use VBscripts (with sendkeys) or Auto-IT scripts for that. After that's done, just reboot (after applying reg-tweak to restore to non-Admin user-login as said above) and it should be over.
