i would like to known if it is possible that when i click the minimize button, instead of creating a bar in the taskbar, it would create icon(near the clock, like the netwotk icon), much like the trial version of alcohol 120%.

thanks

You really should try it out once before asking. :P (saves time on waiting for answer)

You wanted some plugin to make WMP minimise to tray, and that's what the above does. Minimise to system-tray (the words) *IMPLIES* that there is no tab left on the taskbar. Please note, that the plugin above, is only for a WinXP with WMP9 installed. (I'm not sure if it will work with WS2k3 - but you can try it and see. In any case, you should not look for entertainment on a server :P )

If what you want is to minimise to taskbar with controls on the taskbar, then you don't need to add anything else - WMP9 and 10 has that function by itself.

The WMP-bar in the taskbar only gets created when it's selected. Right-click on the taskbar -> Toolbars -> it will only create the bar if Windows Media Player is checked.

This thread is 3 months old, but its relevant. Im using WMP10.

I installed the Tray Control for WMP from the WM Bonus Pack, but it doesnt "minimize to tray" when I minimize it. Instead it goes on the taskbar as normal even with the tray control open.

In order to hide it from the taskbar i have to manually right click on the tray icon and choose "hide media player", if I left click on the tray icon, it just pauses/play the current track-it doesnt unhide the player which is what i want. Quite annoying.

I want to get the player to behave more like MPC.

Any thoughts?
