tim2002 Posted October 8, 2002 Posted October 8, 2002 I have recently had to change ISP's and now have two POP3 email accts. I can originate new messages but cannot reply or forward incoming ones. I get "553 sorry, that domain isn't in my list of allowed rcpthosts (#5.7.1)" returned from System Administrator each time I use ISP1(default) if received via ISP 2. Is this a feature or my setup ?
Guest XÞ뮆ìë$ Posted October 8, 2002 Posted October 8, 2002 hey tim try checking your outgoing settings. In there I believe theres a box to check "use same settings as incoming"...also double check your smtp server settings and make sure you have the right server in there. Call your provider for that info. Also so times your outgoing has to be logged on using a secure password authentication.Hope that helps yah
tim2002 Posted October 8, 2002 Author Posted October 8, 2002 Thanks Xperties, you have led me to a temp solution. It seems that if mail is received from ISP1 it has to be replied to via ISP1 and when dialled into ISP1 only and same with ISP2. I know not why but that seems to be the case. Seriously inconvenient really.
Guest XÞ뮆ìë$ Posted October 8, 2002 Posted October 8, 2002 you said dial....are you on a dialup connection?
Aaron Posted October 10, 2002 Posted October 10, 2002 Yep, Dialup ISPs restrict sending mails on their own service only. I suffer from the same problem. When I'm on a different ISP I can only receive mails.
