Twist79 Posted December 1, 2004 Posted December 1, 2004 I slipstreamed SP2 into winxp pro corporate manually (after discovering a nlite bug with usb sticks )then I created a winnt.sif file with setupmgr.exe and put it into the i368 foldercreating a bootable image was no problem eitherthe winnt.sif looks like this(I removed key and links):;SetupMgrTag[Data] AutoPartition=0 MsDosInitiated="0" UnattendedInstall="Yes"[unattended] UnattendMode=DefaultHide OemPreinstall = No OemSkipEula = Yes FileSystem = * WaitForReboot = No TargetPath = "\Windows" DriverSigningPolicy = Ignore NonDriverSigningPolicy = Ignore Hibernation = No[systemFileProtection] SFCQuota = 0[GuiUnattended] EncryptedAdminPassword=NO AutoLogon=Yes OEMSkipRegional=1 OemSkipWelcome = 1 TimeZone=110[userData] ProductKey=XXX FullName="mine" OrgName="my firm"[Display] BitsPerPel=16 Xresolution=800 YResolution=600 Vrefresh=60[TapiLocation] CountryCode=43 Dialing=Tone AreaCode=01[RegionalSettings] LanguageGroup=1 SystemLocale=00000c07 UserLocale=00000c07 InputLocale=0c07:00000407[branding] BrandIEUsingUnattended=Yes Home_Page=www.something.at[Proxy] Proxy_Enable=0 Use_Same_Proxy=1[identification] JoinWorkgroup=ARBEITSGRUPPE[Networking] InstallDefaultComponents=Yes[FavoritesEx] Title1="some.url" URL1="www.something.at" Title2="email some.url" URL2="http://something"installation stops and asks for PC name and admin pass....this is on purpose.but after the reboot it stops again....asking me to enter a username or more, detecting net, asking if I want to register (no) B) I would like it to just ask for computer name, admin pass and nothing else...it should use this local admin account and boot and login with it until changed manually.did I forget something in this file? or du I have to edit an other file as well?just in case you wonder for what I need this cd....setting up laptops....each has to get its own admin pass and computer nameTHX in advance

Twist79 Posted December 1, 2004 Author Posted December 1, 2004 THXI think I found it:AutomaticUpdates=noUnattendSwitch=yessorry seems I overlooked this page....well I guess it happend to a lot of noobs in this forum.I will test it tomorrow....and there goes an other cd-r media :-)
Twist79 Posted December 1, 2004 Author Posted December 1, 2004 OemPreinstall=Yes (must be yes if u want to install drivers)what u don't have any drivers?AutoLogon=Yes ---->>> remove thisYou asigned a workgroup, But no Network Protocols?what kind of laptop is that? the resolution is so low and refresh ratea lot of different laptops....reaching from P2 233 to Centrino 1.6ghdifferent graphic cards, network, display size and so on....why remove the autologon ?well.....all laptops get added to different domains later on....but the admins dont want to give me the rights to add PCs to their domains....oh well...so they get a default workgroup and its their "most important and time consuming" part to do these few mouseclicks. well most laptops can do 1024x768...true...but better save than sorry....and a lot of LCDs dont like anything else than 60Hz
Astalavista Posted December 1, 2004 Posted December 1, 2004 If u say it will be used on different laptops for sure u will needOemPreinstall=Yesdifferent graphic cards, network, display size and so on... check the devices forum to learn about how to do it efficiently. My sonys vaio Z series refresh rate is 85Hz at 1600X1400 resolution 14' screen.make sure that u invest in a CDRW or better yet DVD RW mediaI only use DVD +RW now. I can't wait till they come out with a Dual Layer DVD+RW. give the settings i gave u a try.
Twist79 Posted December 1, 2004 Author Posted December 1, 2004 I will build a oem=yes cd some time later on....right now its not worth it....winxp sp2 detects nearly everything...and if the f*** admin wants the newest drivers he can do it himselfe.... (I seriously dislike him)the compaq armada I had here last week did not not do anything at 1024 or above..... my workstation got DVD+-R/RW ...no problem...I did build it myselfe after all...but the laptops are sometimes happy to have a CD-rom 2x speed....got me? your link helped.....THX for that....
MHz Posted December 1, 2004 Posted December 1, 2004 My sonys vaio Z series refresh rate is 85Hz at 1600X1400 resolution 14' screen. That is an awesome laptop. High res and refresh.
