kg48827
I have been trying to upgrade from Windows ME and originally tried to install XP home. I did not have a product key for the Home edition CD and stopped installation at the point when I was prompted for the key. I then bought the XP professional upgrade and tried to upgrade using the Home edition CD as a medium. In the process of trying to upgrade to XP professional I have received an error message reading "NTLDR is missing ; press ctrl+alt+delete" to restart. I have been running chkdsk trying to fix the problem in the recovery console and my computer continues to shut off and reboot during chkdsk. THANKS for any help!
