stuffman Posted November 17, 2004 Posted November 17, 2004 Hi All,I'm having a heck of a time trying to upgrade a windows 2000 machine to XP using group policy. I've found the Winnt32.msi on the XP Pro CD, so I'm good to go there, but once I publish Windows XP and it starts its automated install it prompts for a Product ID (Windows product code). I can't figure out how to build a transform for the .MSI to get it to install in a fully automated mode, and I've tried searching on an INI file in the i386 directory where one may specify the product ID to no avail. Normally I would use an unattend.txt file, but you cannot specify a /U switch in group policy to point the installation routine to one. Anyone know how a .MST file can be generated for Windows XP, or which (if any) INI file I can slip the Product ID into? I'm having a really hard time with this one and appreciate any help. Thanks,Stuff
