Hello,

I am in the process of writing a theme manager. I am currently researching the methods of doing so. I must confess I know little of the subject. Nevertheless, I currently have found two methods. 1) Patching uxTheme.dll 2) writing your own theme manager.

In Topic 1, patching uxtheme.dll, is there a way for an installer to accomplish this job. I understand that there are two different versions of the dll, sp1, and sp2. Any other considerations I need to account for?

In Topic 2, how would one find such information. I consider that this method would probally be better since it does not modify the users operating system. What do you think?

Or if there are any other methods that I am not aware of, please let me know. I will be writing the application using C++ and .net. I plan to use maya to create most of the graphics.

An ideas would be greatly appreciated, ANthony Matarazzo
