Hi I hope that you can solve my problem with SP2.

I recently received my SP2 CD from Microsoft but I am unable to install it, because I used a "Prerelease Version of Service Pack 2".

Is there any way to force the installation of SP2 final?

P.S. I am using Windows XP Pro English

Uninstall your "Prerelease Version of Service Pack 2" first?

No it is not possible!!!

I do not have uninstall option and I do not know what effect will have on that PC.

There must be a way, a flag that windows rise.

If I can reset the flag maybe I will be able to install it.

its easy i run into this all the time from RC1 and RC2,

regedit

local machine

system

currentcontrolset

control

windows

change CSDVersion to 100

t

hen SP2 thinks sp1 is installed,

never ran into a problem with this, must have done it on 2 dozen pcs of differnt configs.
