Im trying to research into whether or not I want to create an UI or a cd image. I need to setup(full format and reinstall) xp sp2 to about 60-70 machines in our company. Their all different hardware dating back over the last 2-5 years. I was going to RIS them but I dont have time to go to each puter to see whether or not they support PXE or others, so I figured id keep it simple and do image or UI. Im reading thousands of documents on how to setup for a UI and create the answer files and what not and each document I read has you do it a different way. I also read that if u make an image of a clean install that has all the driver specific hardware uninstalled(but not rebooted yet) would work for multiple machines, which would be best because of all the applications getting included. But im not so sure that is a flawless method. All I really need to do is make a cd i can drop in that will unattendedly(if thats a word), join the domain, customize install settings, possibly retrieve the SID from the DC, and take me straight to windows. Can anybody lead me to the best document for getting through this scenario? Or any other help is greatly appreciated. :}
