eff Posted October 17, 2004 Posted October 17, 2004 Well, wanted to install DirectX 9.0c on my new (and first) installation of win2k3 (standard), but the **** thing simply froze on the beginning of the progress dialog every time I tried (before and after installing gfx driver - card is ATI Radeon). After much cursing I solved the problem, and since I couldn't find any hints about this on the net, here's a tip: Control Panel -> Regional options, the Location and/or "standards" (probably only Location matters) must be set to one of the languages supported by DirectX (when i changed to US & English(US) and retried, the installation completed without a hitch).bye
