printer47359 Posted October 10, 2004 Posted October 10, 2004 I have made a serverless sign up CD for my internet customers with IEAK. It is a auto run CD. It installs IE6 first then restarts the computer and a signup.html page automatically comes up for my customers to choose their access numbers. It works great the first time. If they have to reinstall there dial up with this cd it doesn't work the second time, it says newer version of IE6 exists and will not install and the installation is terminated not allowing the signup.html page to come up so they can reinstall their dial up connection. It has something to do with the branding entry in the registry. If I run regedit and change the number the cd will work again. I don't want to have to tell my customers to run regedit. I'm sure they would have that messed up.Is there anyway around this so it will install as many times as I want without having to go into the registry???Thank you!
Jito463 Posted October 10, 2004 Posted October 10, 2004 Why don't you create a reg key that will change it automatically, then silently run it before the install?
