Install Printer Drivers During Unattended Win2K/XP

What is the best method to add printer drivers to an unattended install of Windows 2K/XP?

I have these printers: HP LaserJet 3200/3300/3380 (Multi Function Printers)

I extracted the files from the download and have the inf and supporting files for each.

If you are trying to print to these printers over the network (direct to an IP address), then I have the answer for you:

If they are connected via USB, parallel, or shared off another machine, things would be a bit different. But for IP printing, I've got the process down pat.

We support the 3 models listed in my last post. I just wanted to make sure that when the user plugged in the printer locally that the driver would be there and get installed.

I found by adding the printer driver files in the pnpdrvs folder, like I do all the others, they became available in the list of printers (when installing a new printer).

I also had to add the folder paths to OemPnPDriversPath= in the unattend.txt file.

I am assuming, without testing yet, that the printer driver will install once I plug one of the 3 printers in.

Try using this:

rundll32 printui,PrintUIEntry

use rundll32 printui,PrintUIEntry /? to see the available options
