jambocool Posted October 3, 2004 Posted October 3, 2004 Heyya Is there any way to during the unattended installation to have all the three user accounts activated ( auto logged on ) and then.... have the documents ( My photos, My music blah blah ) to be put automatically into the required accounts?!?!
prathapml Posted October 3, 2004 Posted October 3, 2004 Please clarify what you mean.Auto-logon refers to automatically logging in ONE user at every boot-up. Three users? As for having a set of files being put in the required user's accounts, you can use "$OEM$\$Docs\Default User\My Documents". Or, use batch-files to copy to specific user's directories - "%SystemDrive%\Documents and Settings\User_Name\anyfolder name".And why'd you WANT the My Photos/My Music/My Movies folders? they're just cluttering up that folder. You can use regsvr32 /s /u mydocs.dllto get rid of that junk re-creating itself all the time.
jambocool Posted October 4, 2004 Author Posted October 4, 2004 Auto-logon refers to automatically logging in ONE user at every boot-up. Three users?Well isnt it that the files of the users my docs etc are not actually created untill that user logs on... I have the folder of " C:\XPCD\$OEM$\$Docs\Jamie " and this contains all my documents photos etc.. right but when i goto the documents and settings the 3 folders are there plus a new one.. the new one will be like Jamie.JAMBOs File instead of putting it into the old documents!?! if you know what i mean
prathapml Posted October 4, 2004 Posted October 4, 2004 Hmm.... Its _sort of_ clear what you mean. But still, putting what you want into more words would be useful. And yes, the Username.001 sort of folders get created if you have the folders copied over too early. If its just the empty "MyMusic/MyPics/MyMovies" folders that you want to create, then why be in a hurry? Let it get created when you log-in....And if you keep re-installing, and need to have files off that folder, and restored after install, then do what most people do - keep your files on your D:\ drive or something. That way, this bother will not be needed. But still, if you need some help, please take the time to put it in words. http://www.catb.org/~esr/faqs/smart-questions.html#explicitIf you are not interested over spending time to get what you want done, nor will anybody have time to respond.Take it easy.
